Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and behavioral changes accurately and promptly
- Support the licensed nursing team by following care plans and reporting concerns
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
- Communicate clearly with residents, families, and team members to enhance care
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (or equivalent state certification) — you must be qualified to practice
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Compassionate demeanor, strong communication skills, and a team-player attitude
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited GNA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care and resident-centered practices
- Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs and observations
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and interdisciplinary teams
