Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any concerns promptly to clinical staff
- Support a safe and clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Document care accurately and timely in resident charts and communicate changes to the team
- Collaborate with nurses and the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication
Qualifications
- GNA certification or equivalent (required or as specified by the facility)
- Current CPR/Basic Life Support preferred or required depending on facility policy
- Ability to pass background and health screenings as required
- Compassionate demeanor, strong communication, and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of accredited GNA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
- Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
- Accurate documentation and charting practices
- Understanding of infection control and patient safety principles
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a care team
