Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and support to residents, helping with activities of daily living
- Assist nursing staff with patient transfers, mobility, and positioning
- Monitor and report changes in residents' conditions to the nursing team
- Accurately document care activities and vital signs as required
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
- Communicate effectively and kindly with residents, families, and fellow team members
Qualifications
- Current GNA (or equivalent) certification in Maryland or eligible to obtain state certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Background check and health screenings as required by facility
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work overnight shifts
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus but not required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic nursing care
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good observation and reporting skills to escalate concerns
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Basic documentation skills; ability to follow care plans and protocols
