Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with grooming, feeding, mobility and toileting needs
- Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition to nursing staff
- Document care activities accurately and timely in charts or electronic records
- Support a safe, clean and respectful environment for residents
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Active GNA/CNA certification or state equivalent preferred (or in progress)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or the ability to obtain upon hire
- Clear background check and TB screening per facility policy
- Compassionate attitude, dependable work ethic, and strong communication skills
- Ability to reliably work the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM night schedule
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of a certified nurse assistant/GNA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic resident care: bathing, dressing and feeding assistance
- Taking and reporting vital signs and observing clinical changes
- Infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Accurate documentation in electronic or paper charting systems
- Teamwork, time management and effective communication with residents and staff
