Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance
- Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Assist with meal service and ensure residents receive appropriate nutrition and meal breaks
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Support dignity and independence for residents through respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (or state-equivalent) required
- CPR/BLS certification required or able to obtain upon hire
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to work the night shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe resident handling
- Familiarity with documentation and care charting
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and resident-focused bedside manner
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
