Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on personal care to residents, helping them maintain dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and document vital signs, condition changes, and any resident concerns clearly and promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility assistance following facility protocols
- Communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care
- Follow infection control, safety procedures, and facility policies to keep residents and coworkers safe
Qualifications
- State GNA certification required (or equivalent Nursing Assistant certification per state rules)
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to work the scheduled 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift, including nights
- Comfortable assisting residents with mobility and ADLs with patience and respect
- Background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations) will be completed
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved GNA/nursing assistant training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and a caring bedside manner
- Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, documenting care, reporting changes
- Familiarity with infection prevention, patient safety, and transfer techniques
- Team player attitude and clear communication with nursing staff and families
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during shifts
