Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing setting
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Document patient care and changes in condition clearly and promptly
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans
- Monitor residents for clinical changes and escalate concerns appropriately
- Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence
- Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in good standing (Maryland or compact state where applicable)
- CPR/BLS certification
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN diploma or certificate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in medication administration and basic wound care
- Comfortable with electronic health record charting
- Ability to perform focused assessments and report clinical changes
- Good time management and prioritization under typical nursing workloads
- Professional bedside manner and resident-focused approach
