Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
- Maintain clean, comfortable resident environments and follow infection control practices
- Document resident interactions and care provided in a timely, professional manner
- Communicate clearly with residents, families, and the care team to promote well-being
- Assist with meal service and ensure residents receive nutrition and hydration support
- Participate in care planning and team huddles to improve resident outcomes
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or state-equivalent nursing assistant certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- State-required background check and immunizations up to date
- Comfortable performing physical tasks required for resident care
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Previous long-term care or similar experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved GNA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care and activities of daily living
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and PPE practices
- Good documentation and time management skills
- Compassionate resident-centered approach and strong interpersonal skills
