Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care and assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control procedures
- Document resident care accurately and timely in the charting system
- Support mobility and fall prevention efforts while encouraging resident independence
- Collaborate with nurses and the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- GNA or CNA certification required in Maryland
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings and immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- GNA/CNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living and basic nursing care
- Skill in taking vital signs and observing patient condition
- Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling
- Good documentation and time management skills
- Teamwork and effective communication with residents, families, and staff
