Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion
- Support safe and timely transfers and mobility assistance to reduce risk and promote independence
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Help with meal assistance and hydration while promoting dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain accurate documentation of care, observations, and resident preferences
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff to implement care plans and deliver consistent, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification in the state of Maryland required
- CPR/BLS certification required or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements
- Comfortable working night shifts and supporting a team-oriented environment
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with residents and team members
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, safe transfers, feeding assistance
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
- Reliable time management and documentation habits
- Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
