Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting daily living activities with dignity
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility needs
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
- Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with nurses and families
- Help maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
- Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies and follow facility protocols
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (Maryland) required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic nursing assistant duties and resident rights
- Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care setting
