Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and compassion
- Monitor and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly so residents get the care they need
- Provide safe, respectful transfers and mobility assistance to reduce fall risk
- Support mealtime assistance and feeding as needed while encouraging independence
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and resident observations to keep the team informed
- Collaborate with nurses and care team members to deliver person-centered care that matters
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification in the state of Maryland or equivalent certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-first mindset
- Previous long term care or assisted living experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- State GNA certification or completion of an approved nursing assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic resident care principles and infection control
- Skilled in safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Comfortable with routine documentation and charting
- Good observational skills to notice subtle changes in resident condition
- Ability to work independently at night while staying connected with the care team
