Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to rehabilitation patients during the night shift
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document in the medical record
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns to the care team promptly
- Support patient mobility and transfers in coordination with therapy staff
- Participate in shift handoffs and ensure clear communication with day teams
- Assist with patient comfort, safety, and bedside teaching during overnight hours
Qualifications
- Valid LPN license in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain one quickly
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Comfortable working overnight 12+ hour shifts and handling typical rehab population needs
- Good communication skills and teamwork mindset in a busy inpatient rehab environment
- Prior experience in long-term care, rehab, or med-surg preferred but not required
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent diploma
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Basic wound care and catheter/ostomy care knowledge
- Familiarity with mobility assistance and fall prevention strategies
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively during night shift events
- Strong patient-centered care and family communication skills
