Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming) with dignity and compassion
- Support mobility and transfers safely using correct body mechanics and equipment
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to the nursing team
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of care delivered
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans
Qualifications
- GNA certification (state-approved nurse aide program completion) or equivalent
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability and willingness to work night shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or ability to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required immunizations
- Reliable attendance and strong communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant or GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs and resident care
- Basic knowledge of infection control and safe handling practices
- Accurate documentation and charting skills
- Strong observational skills and ability to escalate changes in condition
- Team-oriented communication and time management
- Compassionate bedside manner and respect for resident dignity
