Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care for critically ill adults and children in the ICU, managing ventilators and airway support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered respiratory plans
• Perform respiratory assessments, treatments and monitoring, adjusting therapies based on clinical data
• Document care thoroughly in Epic to ensure continuity and clarity across the care team
• Float between like units when needed to support staffing and maintain high-quality patient care
• Respond to emergency situations and on-call needs within the department scope

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, including ICU experience with adults and pediatrics
• Comfortable and experienced working with both pediatric and adult critical care patients
• Experience with Epic charting preferred and helpful for faster onboarding
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Able to float between units within scope to meet facility needs
• Pending state license may be accepted per NRTO rules, follow facility credentialing guidance

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred
• RRT credential and applicable state licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management and airway management skills
• Critical care assessment and intervention for adult and pediatric patients
• Familiarity with Epic electronic charting and clinical documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity settings
• Ability to adapt when floating between like units and changing patient needs
• Comfort with night-shift workflows, triage and emergent interventions
