Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with ADLs and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control practices
- Document care and observations accurately and timely in resident charts
- Collaborate with nursing team to implement care plans and promote resident well-being
- Assist with meal setup and feeding as needed, respecting dietary needs and preferences
Qualifications
- Valid GNA or CNA certification or completion of an accepted nursing assistant program
- Current state registry status as required by Maryland
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of GNA/CNA training program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong resident care and personal assistance skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
- Ability to follow care plans and accept direction from licensed nurses
