Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents as a certified GNA
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff promptly
- Document care accurately and maintain timely charting
- Support a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure each resident’s dignity and comfort
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (or equivalent state nursing assistant certification)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Valid state-required licensure and ability to work in Maryland
- Comfortable working the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Prior experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completed GNA training program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic patient care principles and person-centered care
- Ability to safely assist with transfers and ambulation
- Good observation skills to notice and report changes
- Charting and documentation basics
- Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
