Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to prevent injury
- Document care provided clearly and accurately according to facility policy
- Collaborate with the care team to contribute to individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (or Maryland-equivalent nursing assistant certification)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a certified GNA/nursing assistant training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with personal care tasks and safe resident handling
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Knowledge of infection control and universal precautions
- Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with clinical staff
- Attention to detail and time management during busy night shifts
