Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
- Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics
- Assist with bathing, grooming, feeding and toileting while preserving dignity
- Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the care team
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (or equivalent) in the state of Maryland
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered care with compassion
- Background check and drug screen clearance as required by facility
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned day shift hours
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care standards and infection control practices
- Basic understanding of documentation and care reporting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nurses
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
