Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality direct patient care in a long-term care setting with compassion and professionalism
- Administer medications, treatments and document accurately according to facility policies
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team promptly
- Assist with care planning and coordinate with other clinical staff to support positive outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely charting, following safety and infection-control practices
- Support patient dignity and independence through respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Active LPN license in good standing for Maryland (LPN applicants)
- Or active RN license in good standing for Maryland (RN applicants)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
- Strong communication skills, dependable attendance, and a patient-first attitude
Education
- LPN: Completed LPN program or diploma
- RN: Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (if applying as RN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Vital signs assessment, wound care basics, and mobility assistance
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond calmly in busy situations
- Team collaboration and clear handoff communication
- Understanding of infection control and resident safety procedures
