Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing and grooming
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as feeding, toileting and mobility support
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Document resident care clearly and promptly in the patient record
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control procedures
- Communicate respectfully with residents, families and interdisciplinary team members to support care goals
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Maryland preferred) or eligibility to become certified
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Reliable transportation and punctuality for scheduled shifts
- Strong communication, compassion and teamwork skills
- Previous GNA/CNA experience preferred but new certificate-holders are welcome
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfort assisting with ADLs and supporting patient mobility
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Understanding of patient safety and infection control practices
- Ability to follow care plans and accurate charting
- Compassionate bedside manner and effective time management
