Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and support to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Monitor and report changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and lift equipment
- Document care accurately and concisely, following facility procedures
- Collaborate with the care team to create a positive, resident-focused environment
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Maryland) or equivalent required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Previous long-term care or nursing assistant experience preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of resident safety, infection control and basic clinical signs
- Skillful in assisting with ADLs and safe resident transfers
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
- Reliable documentation and time-management abilities
- Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
