Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and patients
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition accurately
- Communicate clearly with nurses and care team to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
- Support residents in maintaining dignity and independence whenever possible
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or state equivalent
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in long term care, assisted living, or similar setting is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate demeanor
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care and safety procedures
- Ability to assist with transfers and use safe body mechanics
- Familiarity with charting and basic documentation
- Good observational skills to notice and report changes in condition
- Team-oriented approach and ability to follow care plans
