Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain cardiac catheterization lab equipment with precision and care
- Prepare patients and the procedure room, ensuring sterile technique and safety
- Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Monitor patient vitals and respond promptly to changes during procedures
- Document procedures, instrument counts, and patient status accurately
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, high-quality care
- Educate patients and families on procedural expectations and post-procedure care
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience (explicit requirement in the posting)
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification required or as applicable
- State licensure or certification as required for technologists in Florida
- Familiarity with cath lab procedures, sterile technique, and patient monitoring
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
- RCIS or other advanced cath lab certification preferred
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology or related program preferred
- Advanced certifications (RCIS, CVT) are a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of catheterization lab equipment and sterile processing
- Skill in EKG monitoring and interpreting basic cardiac rhythms
- Ability to assist with angiography, stent placement, and other interventional procedures
- Proficiency in patient preparation, vascular access assistance, and recovery room care
- Attention to detail for documentation, counts, and safety protocols
