Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, skilled pre-hospital and interfacility transport care for a variety of patients
- Perform medication administration and IV insertion safely and according to protocol
- Operate Zoll cardiac monitors and Baxter/Alaris IV pumps competently
- Document patient care accurately in the ESO EMR
- Support behavioral health and wheelchair transports with dignity and respect
- Collaborate with a large multidisciplinary transport team to maintain timely, high-quality service
Qualifications
- North Carolina Paramedic Certification required and must be maintained with CE
- BLS, ALS, PHTLS/ITLS and PALS certifications required
- At least one year of full-time active pre-hospital care (or equivalent)
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Minimum two years of satisfactory driving experience to meet insurance guidelines
- National Registry and boarding with the Muncombe County Medical Director preferred
- Comfortable working in varied transport settings including behavioral health and wheelchair transports
Education
- North Carolina Paramedic certification (required)
- Bachelor's in EMS (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy skills
- Proficient with Zoll cardiac monitors and Baxter/Alaris infusion pumps
- Experience with ESO EMR documentation
- Ability to manage patient care across BLS, ALS and Critical Care transports
- Strong communication, adaptability, and a flexible, friendly bedside manner
