Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, skilled pre-hospital and interfacility transport care for a variety of patients
• Perform medication administration and IV insertion safely and according to protocol
• Operate Zoll cardiac monitors and Baxter/Alaris IV pumps competently
• Document patient care accurately in the ESO EMR
• Support behavioral health and wheelchair transports with dignity and respect
• Collaborate with a large multidisciplinary transport team to maintain timely, high-quality service

Qualifications

• North Carolina Paramedic Certification required and must be maintained with CE
• BLS, ALS, PHTLS/ITLS and PALS certifications required
• At least one year of full-time active pre-hospital care (or equivalent)
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Minimum two years of satisfactory driving experience to meet insurance guidelines
• National Registry and boarding with the Muncombe County Medical Director preferred
• Comfortable working in varied transport settings including behavioral health and wheelchair transports

Education

• North Carolina Paramedic certification (required)
• Bachelor's in EMS (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Proficient with Zoll cardiac monitors and Baxter/Alaris infusion pumps
• Experience with ESO EMR documentation
• Ability to manage patient care across BLS, ALS and Critical Care transports
• Strong communication, adaptability, and a flexible, friendly bedside manner
