Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately and safely for inpatient and outpatient needs
- Review medication orders for appropriateness, interactions, and allergies
- Counsel patients and healthcare team members on medication use and safe administration
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to optimize pharmacotherapy
- Participate in medication use evaluations and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards
- Maintain accurate medication records and support inventory management
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license (Florida) or eligibility to obtain prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience (as listed in the job posting)
- Current BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Demonstrated experience in hospital/inpatient pharmacy practice preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a busy team
- Willingness to complete facility-specific onboarding and credentialing requirements
Education
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) required/acceptable depending on state licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in medication dispensing processes and safety protocols
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) and pharmacy information systems
- Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy workflows, IV admixture, and sterile compounding basics
- Ability to perform medication reconciliation and clinical interventions
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Customer-focused approach to patient counseling and clinician support
