Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for progressive care unit (PCU) patients, monitoring condition changes and intervening appropriately
• Perform assessments, administer medications, and manage complex IV therapies with precision
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust patient care plans
• Use clinical judgment to prioritize care, escalate concerns, and ensure patient safety
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document patient status and nursing interventions accurately and timely

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (ability to obtain North Carolina license if not already held)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or acute care nursing experience
• BLS required; ACLS preferred or as required by facility
• Current CPR certification and any facility-specific competencies
• Comfort caring for telemetry and higher-acuity medical-surgical patients

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for progressive care patients
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Medication administration and IV/infusion pump management
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
• Time management and prioritization under overnight shift conditions
