Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients in an acute care/inpatient rehab setting and develop individualized care plans
- Deliver hands-on and functional therapeutic interventions to improve patient mobility and independence
- Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care among PTAs, OTs, rehab techs, and interdisciplinary team members
- Document clinical findings and progress accurately using Cerner PowerChart
- Use patient lifting equipment and mobility aids safely (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove, walkers, gait belts)
- Communicate evaluation results and discharge goals clearly to patients, families, and staff
- Prioritize patient safety and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy (required)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (acute care experience preferred)
- Comfortable with orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary patient populations
- Strong documentation skills in Cerner PowerChart and ability to work independently
Education
- Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient evaluation and functional assessment
- Care plan development and therapeutic progression
- Therapeutic supervision and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Clinical documentation in Cerner PowerChart
- Safe use of patient lifts and mobility equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove)
- Experience with gait training, walkers, and gait belts
- Acute care procedures and inpatient rehabilitation workflows
