Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients in the ICU, making timely, evidence-driven decisions
• Administer medications, manage infusions and titrate vasoactive drips safely
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and advanced life support equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient response accurately in the electronic medical record
• Provide family-centered communication and education during high-stress situations
• Act as a clinical resource and escalate concerns when patient status changes

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Texas or ability to obtain prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required or ability to obtain quickly
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills for high-acuity care
• Ability to travel and work a 13-week contract

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of critical care protocols and ventilator management
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Familiarity with ICU monitoring equipment and alarm management
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documentation systems
• Excellent communication skills for teamwork and family updates
• Ability to prioritize in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
