Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality outpatient and acute care physical therapy, delivering individualized treatment plans
- Perform therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, vestibular rehab, balance training and gait training
- Use modality equipment including pool therapy, cardiovascular equipment and Biodex balance systems when appropriate
- Document patient evaluations, treatment plans and progress in the EMR (Cerner for acute, NetHealth Xfits for outpatient)
- Collaborate with PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTA and SLPs to ensure coordinated, team-based patient care
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and discharge planning to maximize outcomes
Qualifications
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of North Carolina (required)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (job lists Experience: 2)
- Required outpatient and acute care experience — candidates without this will not be considered
- Comfortable working in both outpatient clinic and acute care settings
- Willingness to participate in weekend rotation every 5th weekend and cover limited Saturday priority patients
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent (as required for licensure in NC)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Cerner (acute) and NetHealth Xfits / ReDoc (outpatient) documentation systems
- Skilled in manual therapy, orthopedic/sports/spine techniques (preferred), vestibular rehab and stroke care
- Experience with pool therapy, balance training, gait training and cardio conditioning
- Strong teamwork, communication and patient-education skills
- Ability to manage 9–11 patients per day typical caseload per FTE
