Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain cardiac catheterization lab equipment with precision and safety
- Prepare patients and assist the interventional cardiology team during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Monitor patient hemodynamics and communicate changes promptly to the clinical team
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure all instrumentation is properly sterilized and tracked
- Document procedures, supplies used, and patient status accurately and timely
- Collaborate with nursing and physician staff to deliver smooth, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or able to obtain
- State licensure/certification as required by employer and facility
- Previous experience in a high-volume cath lab or interventional cardiology setting
- Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Cath Lab Tech program or equivalent clinical training
- High school diploma or GED required; additional clinical certifications preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with cardiac catheterization procedures and cath lab equipment
- Proficient in patient monitoring, sterile field maintenance, and infection control
- Ability to read basic hemodynamic tracings and recognize changes
- Strong documentation and electronic charting skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication in fast-paced clinical environments
