Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality outpatient hematology and oncology care to adult and geriatric patients
- Perform and manage bone marrow biopsies with competence and care
- Manage VAD/CV catheters and related vascular access issues
- Participate actively in Tumor Board meetings to guide multidisciplinary patient care
- Manage bone marrow transplant patients as part of the program
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging to guide treatment plans
- Prescribe medications, including chemotherapy regimens, and ensure safe administration
- Coordinate with blood bank services and manage transfusion needs
- Document patient encounters thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC
Qualifications
- MD or DO with Hematology/Oncology fellowship training
- Active Indiana medical license or eligibility to obtain one (credentialing ~60 days with IN license; ~90 days without)
- Proven experience in outpatient hematology/oncology practice
- Demonstrated skills in bone marrow biopsy and management of VAD/CV catheters
- Experience managing bone marrow transplant patients and participation in Tumor Boards
- Experience with chemotherapy prescribing and oversight of safe administration
- Familiarity with EPIC or comparable EMR
- Ability to complete required credentialing and privileging in a timely manner

- MD or DO degree; Hematology/Oncology fellowship

- Bone marrow biopsy technique and interpretation
- Management of VAD/CV catheters
- Bone marrow transplant management
- Ordering and interpreting labs, imaging, and blood bank coordination
- EPIC documentation and order entry
- Strong multidisciplinary communication and Tumor Board collaboration
