Roles & Responsibilities
- Interpret screening and diagnostic mammograms with accuracy and clinical judgment
- Perform and oversee mammography procedures and related breast imaging exams
- Provide clear, timely reports in EPIC and through the PACS/PowerScribe workflow
- Collaborate with technologists, surgeons, and oncologists to ensure excellent patient care
- Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain MQSA compliance
- Communicate findings compassionately and clearly to referring clinicians and patients when appropriate
Qualifications
- MQSA certification required
- MD or DO with Diagnostic Radiology board certification or eligibility
- Active medical license in South Carolina or ability to obtain promptly
- Minimum clinical experience interpreting mammography consistent with locum expectations
- Comfortable working onsite for all screenings and procedures
- Experience with EPIC, PACS, and PowerScribe preferred
Education
- MD or DO
- Completion of Diagnostic Radiology residency
- Fellowship in Breast Imaging preferred but not required if MQSA-certified
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in screening and diagnostic mammography interpretation
- Familiarity with breast ultrasound and image-guided breast procedures
- Strong skills in PACS navigation and PowerScribe reporting
- Clinical decision making for breast imaging and multidisciplinary coordination
- Attention to quality metrics and MQSA requirements
