Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered gastroenterology care across outpatient, endoscopy, and inpatient settings
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures with attention to safety and outcomes
- Manage consultative hospital services and coordinate care with inpatient teams
- Collaborate closely with dedicated APPs and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver efficient, team-based care
- Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to support continuity and quality metrics
- Participate in call rotation (1:4) and contribute to the growth of an established referral base within the medical group and ACO
- Engage in quality improvement and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Prefer 3-5 years post-graduate experience, though GI fellows are encouraged to apply
- Advanced endoscopy training preferred but not required
- Ohio medical license or eligibility to obtain one; ability to meet credentialing requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.; position is not open to visa candidates
- Not open to Locum tenens candidates
Education
- MD or DO and completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Gastroenterology
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skills in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy
- Comfortable managing both inpatient consults and outpatient continuity clinic
- Experience using EPIC electronic medical record
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, including APP collaboration
- Familiarity with quality metrics, ACO collaboration, and patient-centered care models
