Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient rounding and continuity of inpatient OB/GYN care
• Manage labors, deliveries and operative obstetric procedures including C-sections
• Evaluate and manage antepartum triage and treatment needs
• Respond promptly to ER consults related to obstetric and gynecologic issues
• Perform gynecologic procedures as clinically indicated: D&C, ablations, hysterectomy and urgent surgeries
• Manage acute maternal conditions including hypertensive disorders and hemorrhage
• Document care in Epic EMR and coordinate with nursing and ancillary staff for safe patient transitions

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (preferred)
• Active or eligible for Kentucky medical license (credentialing timeframe 60-90 days)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Demonstrated inpatient Labor & Delivery experience with C-sections and emergency OB care
• Comfortable using Epic EMR and working with L&D nursing teams

Education

• MD or DO (Residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in management of labors and deliveries, including operative vaginal delivery and C-section
• Experienced in maternal hypertensive disorder management and postpartum hemorrhage protocols
• Ability to perform gynecologic surgeries and procedures (D&C, ablations, hysterectomy)
• Proven experience responding to ER consults and providing timely OB/GYN assessments
• Proficient with Epic EMR for documentation, orders and care coordination
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a rural hospital setting
