Roles & Responsibilities
- Interpret polysomnography and other sleep studies accurately and efficiently
- Provide outpatient sleep medicine care and follow-up after sleep studies
- Collaborate with polysomnography techs, MAs, and advanced practice providers to optimize patient care
- Deliver clear treatment plans for OSA, CSA, insomnia, narcolepsy, RBD, circadian disorders, and hypersomnia
- Document encounters and clinical decisions in Epic to ensure continuity of care
- Support improved access to sleep medicine services during the locum assignment
Qualifications
- MD or DO (or equivalent) with training/experience in Sleep Medicine
- Experience interpreting polysomnography and managing common sleep disorders
- Comfortable working in an outpatient clinic and reading studies remotely
- Familiarity with Epic EMR for documentation and ordering
- Ability to complete credentialing (estimated 90–120 days) and meet facility requirements
Education
- MD or DO (or equivalent)
- Sleep Medicine fellowship training preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical Sleep Medicine expertise (OSA, CSA, insomnia, narcolepsy, RBD, circadian disorders, hypersomnia)
- Polysomnography interpretation and reporting
- Outpatient clinic workflow and patient follow-up
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record
- Tele-reading/remote interpretation capabilities
