Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and the cath lab team during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Prepare, calibrate, and maintain cath lab equipment and imaging systems to ensure safe, effective procedures
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, procedural data, and post-procedure recovery status
- Maintain sterile field and strict infection control practices throughout procedures
- Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and techs to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
- Provide clear patient education and emotional support before, during, and after procedures
- Troubleshoot equipment and workflow issues promptly to minimize downtime and keep the schedule on track
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a Cardiac Cath Lab
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced certifications such as ACLS, RCIS, or CVT preferred
- State licensure or registry as required by Florida (active and in good standing)
- Comfort with 12-hour day shifts and the physical demands of the cath lab environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
Education
- Associate's degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related clinical field preferred
- Or equivalent education and on-the-job experience in cardiac catheterization
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of catheterization procedures and cath lab equipment
- Familiarity with fluoroscopy and imaging safety protocols
- Ability to monitor and interpret basic hemodynamic and EKG data
- Strong sterile technique and infection control practices
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and procedural documentation
- Calm decision-making under pressure and excellent situational awareness
