Candidate Pay Rate: $45.50/hour (candidate pay rate)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a surgical oncology telemetry unit
- Monitor telemetry and vital signs closely and respond swiftly to changes
- Administer medications and treatments safely, following unit protocols
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient transitions
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the MediTech EMR
- Support unit goals by maintaining patient ratios and prioritizing critical tasks
- Participate in bedside handoffs and maintain clear communication with families and providers
- Perform chemotherapy administration only if chemotherapy certified and within scope
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (must be in good standing)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg or relevant nursing experience (telemetry experience highly desirable)
- Chemotherapy certification preferred for oncology duties
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and familiarity with MediTech EMR
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and an every-other-weekend schedule
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred where available.
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Proficient with vital sign devices (Welch Allyn) and GE telemetry systems
- Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical oncology environment
- Accurate and timely clinical documentation in an EMR
