Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist and participate in advanced endoscopic procedures such as EUS, EBUS and ERCP
- Scrub and/or circulate for colonoscopy, bronchoscopy and other GI procedures
- Safely monitor conscious sedation and recover patients in the post-procedure area
- Perform airway management and monitored anesthesia care recovery when needed
- Handle, label and process specimens accurately and timely
- Document procedures and patient care thoroughly in Epic
- Operate and troubleshoot specialty equipment including ION and FUJI scopes/ERBE
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide professional coverage every 5th weekend
Qualifications
- Active RN license — Alaska RN license in hand required for auto-offer (pending licenses accepted but AK preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience (endoscopy or procedural RN experience)
- BLS required
- ACLS, PALS and SGNA certification preferred
- Comfortable with scrub and circulate roles in endoscopy
- Able to work inpatient and outpatient endoscopy settings and follow facility policies
Education
- Active RN license (Alaska preferred). Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN accepted
Knowledge & Skills
- Endoscopy procedures: Colonoscopy, Bronchoscopy, EGD
- Advanced procedures: EUS, EBUS, ERCP
- Monitoring conscious sedation and recovery
- Airway management and post-procedure care
- Specimen handling and labeling best practices
- Experience with Ion equipment, FUJI scopes and ERBE
- Epic charting experience
