Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based outpatient OBGYN nursing care to adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Perform and document Epic charting accurately and in a timely manner
• Obtain and process specimens, perform blood draws and IV starts with proficiency
• Assist with and perform OBGYN procedures such as PAP, colposcopy support, LEEP, D&C, EMB, IUD insertions/removals, Nexplanon placement, and NST monitoring
• Triaging patient calls, coordinating medication refill requests, and supporting vaccine administration
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care and smooth clinic flow

Qualifications

• Active California LVN license required
• Minimum 3 years LVN experience in primary care, urgent care, or outpatient OBGYN (L&D considered if outpatient clinic experience is present)
• BLS required (AHA or ARC)
• IV / Blood draw certification with demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy and IV starts
• Epic experience required for charting
• Flu vaccination required (no declinations or exemptions)
• First-time contract clinicians accepted

Education

• Completed LVN / Vocational Nursing program and required state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in phlebotomy and IV therapy (starting and maintaining IVs)
• Competent with OBGYN-specific procedures: PAP, colposcopy support, LEEP, D&C, EMB, IUD insertion/removal, Nexplanon, NST
• Strong telephone triage, medication reconciliation, and patient education skills
• Comfortable administering IM and SQ medications and routine vaccines
• Ability to interpret lab results, document accurately in Epic, and manage follow-up communications
