Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide advanced respiratory care including ventilator management and weaning protocols
- Administer oxygen therapy and nebulizer treatments safely and effectively
- Perform patient assessments, monitor respiratory status, and document care in the EMR
- Respond to emergency and code situations using ACLS/BLS skills when required
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on therapies and equipment to support recovery and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Current RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (acute care experience preferred)
- Current CPR certification and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
- Eligible for or currently hold required state licensure to practice in Texas
Education
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong ventilator management and weaning experience
- Proficient with oxygen delivery systems and nebulizer therapies
- Familiarity with ICU care and acute respiratory procedures
- Comfortable documenting in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ability to work autonomously on night shifts and handle high-acuity patients
- Pediatric certifications/experience (NRP, PALS) are a plus for pediatric roles
