Roles & Responsibilities
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently to keep patients safe
- Oversee and mentor pharmacy technician staff, ensuring smooth operations
- Perform product checking and distribution for the central pharmacy
- Answer clinical questions from nurses and providers with clear, evidence-based guidance
- Maintain thorough clinical documentation and assist with operational needs
- Support central pharmacy workflows including Talyst/Pyxis integrations and dispensing procedures
Qualifications
- Active RPh license in North Carolina (required)
- Minimum 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience
- Experience overseeing the work of pharmacy technicians
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced central pharmacy
- ACLS certification preferred if you will support the Emergency Department (not required)
- Familiarity with Cerner and Vigilanz is a plus
Education
- Pharmacy degree (PharmD or equivalent) preferred
- Active RPh license in North Carolina
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge of adult and pediatric pharmaceutical care
- Order verification and medication safety best practices
- Experience with Talyst machines, Pyxis, LAFW and CAI systems
- Experience using Cerner and Vigilanz EMR/monitoring tools
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with nursing and providers
- Ability to multitask, adapt, and perform under pressure
