Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise pharmacy technician staff to ensure safe, efficient operations
• Verify and process medication orders with accuracy and clinical judgment
• Perform order verification and clinical documentation in the central pharmacy
• Check and distribute products, ensuring proper handling and inventory control
• Answer clinical questions from nurses and providers to support optimal patient care
• Support operational needs of the central pharmacy, including workflow and policy adherence
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to improve medication safety and patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RPh license in North Carolina (required)
• Minimum 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience
• Experience overseeing or directing technician work in a hospital pharmacy setting
• Comfortable with central pharmacy operations, order verification, and clinical documentation
• Familiarity with Cerner and Vigilanz preferred
• Experience with automation and equipment such as Talyst, Pyxis, LAFW, CAI is a plus
• ACLS certification/experience preferred if working in the Emergency Department

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of inpatient/hospital pharmacy workflows and medication safety
• Hands-on experience with Talyst, Pyxis automated dispensing, LAFW, and CAI systems
• Experience using Cerner and Vigilanz for medication management and surveillance
• Excellent clinical judgment when answering provider and nurse questions
• Proven ability to supervise technicians, prioritize tasks, and multitask in high-stress settings
• Team player attitude, adaptability, and a positive, professional bedside manner
