Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist Interventional Radiologists with minimally invasive procedures to support excellent patient outcomes
• Position patients correctly for interventional radiologic procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety
• Provide procedural sedation support and monitor patients’ EKG and vitals during procedures
• Work across modalities — assist physicians in CT and Ultrasound when needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (Cerner) and imaging systems (Radnet, Merge Unity)
• Respond to on-call notifications within the required 30-minute window to support emergent needs
• Collaborate with the IR team to prepare equipment and supplies, ensuring procedural readiness

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to submit license)
• ACLS and BLS required
• Must be able to pass Procedural Sedation competency and an EKG competency exam
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Familiarity with Cerner, Radnet and Merge Unity preferred
• Willingness to float to nearby Mercy Southwest and participate in rotating call/holiday coverage
• Comfortable working with IR cases such as biopsies, drainages, angiography, embolization, and line placements

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Interventional Radiology procedures and protocols
• Procedural sedation principles and patient monitoring
• EKG recognition and monitoring competency
• Patient positioning for radiologic procedures
• Experience with imaging modalities: CT and Ultrasound
• Charting and documentation in Cerner; familiarity with Radnet and Merge Unity
• ACLS and BLS clinical skills
