Shift Type: Variable days (primarily 4x10 day schedule), 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (typical); additional possible start times include 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM and 12:00 PM - 10:30 PM, Day shifts; exact days vary by department and meet staffing needs

Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate and manage medication dispensing systems such as Pyxis to ensure timely medication delivery
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and par levels by ordering, receiving, rotating stock, and documenting removals
- Support formulary management and maintain the formulary approved product list to promote safe, cost-effective therapy
- Perform controlled substance handling with meticulous documentation and compliance with transfer regulations
- Process recalls, returns, outdates, and reverse distribution to keep medication stock safe and current
- Chart medications and document activities in Epic to support clear, accurate patient records
- Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication safety and patient care
- Assist with training and orientation activities during your 40-hour onboarding to ensure smooth unit integration
Qualifications
- Current state pharmacy technician license required; pending licenses are not accepted
- CPhT certification preferred but not required
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience; acute care or retail background considered, manager prefers acute hospital experience
- Familiarity with Epic or other electronic charting systems preferred
- Comfortable working with controlled substances, high-alert medications, and strict documentation processes
- Ability to meet RTO requirements at time of submission
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with Pyxis and other medication dispensing systems
- Pharmacy inventory management and ordering/receiving processes
- Formulary management and maintaining approved product lists
- Controlled substance documentation and transfer regulations
- Knowledge of high-alert medications and look-alike/sound-alike risk mitigation
- Strong understanding of generic and brand drug names, pharmacology basics for technicians, and routes of administration
- Experience working in inpatient or acute care medication environments
