Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic CT procedures and produce high-quality images for physician interpretation
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain steps clearly, and reduce anxiety through informed care
• Administer and monitor IV contrast media and maintain intravenous access safely
• Position patients precisely to demonstrate areas of interest while prioritizing comfort and safety
• Operate imaging equipment and capture diagnostic images using appropriate image acquisition techniques
• Follow radiation safety protocols and universal precautions to protect patients and staff
• Provide basic life support when necessary and respond to urgent patient needs
• Support inventory and supply decisions to keep the department running smoothly
• Teach and precept students and peers, sharing practical expertise to build team capability

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program
• Minimum 2 years of CT experience required
• ARRT Radiography registration required
• ARRT Computed Tomography registration required
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required
• Approved CPR or BLS certification required
• Willingness to alternate shifts, weekends, holidays and take call as needed

Education

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program

Knowledge & Skills

• Computed Tomography (CT) imaging and image acquisition best practices
• Diagnostic radiography and patient positioning expertise
• IV access and IV contrast administration with attention to safety
• Radiation safety principles and infection control/aseptic technique
• Fluoroscopy and portable radiography experience considered a plus
• Strong patient communication and education skills to ease patient experience
• Supply and inventory management, plus experience teaching or precepting
