Shift Type: Rotating day shifts including weekends; typical scheduled shift 8:45 AM - 9:15 PM. Every other weekend required; schedule must meet department needs and may include floating to different ED sections.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients in a busy, high-volume Emergency Department with compassion and clinical skill
- Provide timely, evidence-based nursing care for trauma, stroke, and general emergency presentations
- Document accurately and efficiently in Cerner to ensure continuity of care
- Operate and monitor equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors safely
- Coach and give real-time feedback to teammates to promote a high-performing, collaborative unit
- Communicate with patients and families using AIDET principles to create a respectful, patient-centered experience
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and safely manage patient flow and ratios
Qualifications
- Current RN license (state licensure required prior to start)
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS; ENPC within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality and ability to coach and provide feedback
- Willingness to float within ED sections and work rotating schedule including every other weekend
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Cerner documentation system
- Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitoring systems
- Skilled in emergency, trauma, and stroke care protocols and procedures
- Ability to manage patient ratios typical to ED (commonly 4:1, may increase for behavioral holds)
- Excellent communication, situational awareness, and patient-experience focus
