Shift Type: Rotating schedule (includes nights and weekends; every other weekend required), 12:45 PM - 1:15 AM (overnight-facing 12.5-hour shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Triages and assesses patients rapidly and accurately in a high-volume emergency department
- Provides skilled nursing care across ED sections, including cardiac monitoring and behavioral holds
- Delivers patient-centered communication using AIDET and keeps patients and families updated throughout the visit
- Documents care thoroughly and efficiently in Cerner to ensure continuity and quality
- Operates and troubleshoots unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Coaches and mentors teammates in real time, offering constructive feedback to elevate team performance
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to prioritize care and facilitate timely patient flow
- Maintains unit policies, attendance expectations, and required certifications to meet hospital standards
Qualifications
- Active registered nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
- Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
- Demonstrated teamwork mindset and ability to coach/give feedback in real time
- Willingness to float within all sections of the ED (not outside the ED)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient triage skills and emergency assessment
- Strong Cerner documentation experience
- Familiarity with stroke assessment (NIHSS) and trauma workflows
- Comfortable with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
- Excellent communication and patient-experience focus (AIDET)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
