Shift Type: 8-hour shifts (block schedule), 40-hour guarantee; exact start/end times set by facility. No shift accommodation requests will be considered. Must be available to float to BMC (Crane and Endo) as needed and able to work holidays, overtime and call-back when required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during endoscopy and total joint replacement procedures with precision and focus
• Prepare and maintain sterile field and surgical instrumentation for orthopedic and endoscopic cases
• Set up, operate and troubleshoot endoscopy and orthopedic instruments and equipment
• Serve as a preceptor and mentor to peers and new staff, providing hands-on training and constructive feedback
• Perform accurate instrument counts, documentation and surgical case paperwork in a timely manner
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure patient safety and efficient room turnover
• Float to affiliated BMC units (Crane and Endo) as needed to support patient care demands

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with NBSTSA certification required (equivalents such as NCCT are not accepted)
• Minimum three (3) years of current CST experience
• Endoscopy experience required; will be utilized in Endoscopy multiple times per week
• Total Joint Replacement (orthopedic) experience required
• Precepting experience required (able to train and mentor others)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Must have reliable personal vehicle; this is a small community without public transport
• Traveler candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered; permanent address must be included in profile
• Provide supervisory signed reference from within the past two years and up-to-date skills checklist

Education

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with NBSTSA certification
• BLS (AHA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and operative instrumentation for orthopedic and endoscopic cases
• Proficiency with endoscopy equipment setup and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with total joint implant sets and orthopedic instrumentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork and situational awareness in the OR
• Ability to precept and teach clinical skills effectively
• Accurate documentation and case-counting practices
