Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, prioritize and stabilize patients in a high-volume emergency department setting
• Perform rapid triage and deliver evidence-based emergency care for trauma and stroke patients
• Administer medications and manage infusions using Baxter pumps while monitoring with GE monitors
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and support staff to coordinate excellent, timely care
• Coach, mentor and provide real-time feedback to colleagues to support team development
• Deliver outstanding patient experience using AIDET and clear communication throughout the visit
• Adhere to unit policies, safety protocols and quality initiatives to maintain high standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license (North Carolina or compact) required
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center and a comprehensive stroke center preferred
• History working in a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) strongly desired
• Required certifications before start: ACLS and BLS (must be current)
• Required certifications before start: PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (ENPC within 90 days of hire)
• Strong teamwork mindset with ability to coach and give constructive feedback
• Willingness to float to all sections within the Emergency Department

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner electronic documentation
• Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring and emergency procedures
• Comfortable with Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitoring systems
• Trauma and stroke care knowledge (NIHSS experience)
• Excellent communication, patient advocacy and AIDET-focused bedside manner
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment
