Shift Type: Night shift, 3x12 (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 3 nights per week with every-other-weekend coverage
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed, compassionate psychiatric nursing care to adults and geriatric patients in an inpatient locked unit
- Administer medications safely and accurately, following facility protocols
- Start and maintain IVs when required and monitor infusion therapy
- Use crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to keep patients and staff safe
- Implement seclusion and restraint protocols in accordance with state law and facility policy
- Respond quickly to emergencies including cardiac arrest and activate appropriate interventions (CPR, emergent chemical restraints)
- Document thoroughly in Epic to ensure clear, timely patient records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members—social work, pharmacy, PT, respiratory, and more—to coordinate patient-centered care
- Float between inpatient psychiatric units as needed while maintaining quality and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio (compact licensure accepted where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric inpatient nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- CPI and Aegis familiarity preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred but not required
- Comfort with emergent chemical restraints and seclusion protocols
- Able to work 12-hour night shifts and float across units
- Accepts first-time travel nurses
Education
- Active RN license (ADN or BSN acceptable; BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Behavior management techniques and managing assaultive behavior
- Crisis intervention and strong de-escalation skills
- Medication administration and knowledge of psychotropic medications (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, sedatives)
- Starting and maintaining IVs and basic infusion skills
- Seclusion/restraint protocols and legal aspects of involuntary/voluntary commitment
- CPR/Cardiac Arrest response and other emergency interventions
- Charting and clinical documentation proficiency in Epic
- Basic medical skills: blood glucose monitoring, Foley/feeding tube awareness, 12-lead ECG recognition
- Trauma-informed care and working with diverse psychiatric diagnoses
